A packet of seeds:
Have you ever looked at a packet of seeds? On the front there is always a picture of the fully grown plants, flowers, vegetables or trees; these pictures are there so you know what to expect after you plant the seeds. If you turn the packet of seeds over, it will tell you all about them, what kind of soil they need, how much sunlight they require, how deep you should plant them and how much water they need. Oftentimes, it will also tell you how long it should take before the seeds begin to grow.
It’s a funny thing, because the seeds look absolutely nothing like the picture on the front of the packet, but somehow, everything on the picture is inside those tiny little seeds. This is a wonderful example of the Hermetic principle “As above, so below” because it shows us exactly how the kingdom of God operates, and when I say “kingdom of God” I’m simply talking about our reality.
Reality works just like a packet of seeds, this is why the ancient mystical writers of the Bible always used parables about farmers sowing seeds to get their point across.
The desires of your heart are seeds, and contained within them is everything needed for their fulfillment; it’s vital that you understand this if you’re going to successfully negotiate your reality.
Life is simply seed time and harvest.
All seeds must be planted. All seeds take a certain amount of time to grow.
When you plant a seed in the ground, several days go by and it seems like nothing is happening, nothing looks different, everything appears to be the same; however, this is actually the time when everything is happening!
It’s the same with the desires of your heart, you must plant, then wait.
I want you to mentally design the picture on the front of your seed packet. What do you really want in life? What does the ideal version of you look like?
Now plant those seeds by assuming the reality of the picture you designed. This doesn’t have to be complicated. Meditation is the soil. Fertile soil. Close your eyes, be still and quiet for just a few minutes, try your best to still your mind. Breathe in slow and deep, relaxing more and more with each exhale. Think of the image on the front of your seed packet, the ideal version of you and the ideal lifestyle you’re living, assume the feeling of it. Bring in all the tones of reality to the best of your ability, feel it. This is the planting. When you are satisfied with how you feel, break the spell. Open your eyes.
Now, walk in the assurance of what you’ve done, regardless of what it looks like. Everything may still look the same but it’s not.
