In and out:

“Yes, only God knows whether I was in my body or outside my body…..” (2nd Corinthians 12:3 NLT)

Out of body experiences or astral projection is sometimes looked at as woo-woo or something only new-agey type people are into; and this is unfortunate, because it’s an amazing tool that we can use to help us negotiate our reality, and it’s actually a biblical concept.

In my new book “Reality is Negotiable” I have an entire chapter dedicated to this mystical practice because I believe it’s something that is available for all of us, and I know first hand what a profound influence it can have on our lives.

I wanted to share a recent experience I had just the other night in hopes that there are others out there who may have experienced the same thing, and perhaps by sharing this, it will help bolster your confidence in your own unique mystical abilities.

My family and I recently returned home from a lovely camping trip at Roaring River state park in the Ozark mountains. It’s amazing what spending time in nature will do for your soul. Anyway, all day yesterday I had this rather auspicious feeling, it wasn’t anything bad, just kind of a mystical feeling which made me feel a little distant, almost like dreaming while awake if that makes any sense; and I remember thinking to myself, “I bet I’ll have an out of body experience tonight.”

I drifted off to sleep that evening with my lovely wife at my side and immediately began dreaming. The dream wasn’t anything spectacular, I was outside with my family and we were peaking over a large wooden fence and talking about something (I can’t remember what we were looking at or what we were talking about) and then I experienced something I have never experienced before. I heard a very loud bell ringing sound, I say bell, but it was more like a bell/gong sound. When I say loud, I mean LOUD, like almost so loud it hurt my ears, and it sounded like it was coming from inside my head but also outside and all around me at the same time. This bell rang exactly three times and on the third ring I shot out of my body and was hovering in the air above our bed. It was exhilarating! It must have startled my wife, because she began trying to wake me up. I could hear her speaking to me clearly, but I couldn’t get the words to come out in order to respond to her. Eventually, after several minutes, I felt myself coming back into my body, and responded saying “yes, yes, I’m here.”

Now, I’ve had numerous OBE’s throughout my life, but this was the first time I’ve heard the bells. Loud ringing bells. Three times. The next morning I grabbed my bible and began researching to see if there was anything at all pertaining to ringing bells in the scriptures, and low and behold, sure enough in the book of Exodus in chapter 28:33-35 there is a description of the high priest attaching bells to the hem of his robe which would ring whenever he entered or exited the holy temple.

This is significant because we know “our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit” (1st Corinthians 6:19) The bells symbolize the spirit or astral body exiting the physical body (temple). Pretty amazing stuff if you ask me, and it only serves to solidify the fact that the bible is simply an allegory for the things we experience in our journey through the mystical world of consciousness.
