Jonah and the Whale:
Everybody knows the story. Jonah is a prophet who disobeys God, gets swallowed by a gigantic fish, lives inside the belly of this fish for three days and eventually gets spit out onto the shore and reluctantly goes to the city of Nineveh to preach. But what if this is not what this story is actually about. Remember, the Bible is not a book of secular history (despite popular belief) but rather a book of consciousness which is addressed to the human imagination. So, with this in mind, we need to ask ourselves what the real message is here. The Bible is one big allegory from start to finish, so this story of Jonah and the Whale is not what it appears to be on the surface level, there is a secret of reality creation hiding in plain sight within the words.
The Whale represents the true desire of your heart, the big dream you have for your life. If you let this desire consume you, swallow you, to the point where you are actually living inside it, then you will eventually see your dream become a reality. Ask yourself what it would feel like if your main desire for your life was already realized. How would it change you? What kind of thoughts would you be thinking? How would you carry yourself? How would you show up in the world on a daily basis if you were already the ideal version of yourself? This is living inside the desire, or fish if you will. Let’s say you desire a promotion at work. Now imagine how you would feel if you in fact received the promotion. Would you be happy? Would you feel a new sense of financial freedom? Would you celebrate? Begin to feel these feelings and emotions now, because when you connect a desire with an emotion, it triggers the reality creation progress and the wheels of motion begin to spin.
It’s interesting to note that the Bible says Jonah was inside the Whale for three days, this is significant because three is the number of completion in scripture. We have the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit known as the Trinity or complete Godhead. We see the number three all throughout the Bible symbolizing completion. So we can see from this crazy little story about a man being swallowed by a fish, that if we will live inside our desire, feeling the reality of it, we will see it come to completion in our physical reality.
So keep in mind, whenever you come across some crazy story like this in the Bible, something that would actually never happen in real life, you need to ask yourself what the hidden message is. The Bible is full of them.
Live inside the desire!
