Radical Forgiveness:

“Which is easier to say to this paralyzed man, ‘Your sins are forgiven’ or ‘Get up, take up your mat and walk’? (Mark 2:9)

There is an integral part of forgiveness that seems to be overlooked by most people, physical healing. Forgiveness of sins and physical healing go hand in hand, they are two sides of the God coin. All throughout the Bible we see this concept at work, not only in the above verse, but many others as well.

When Jesus forgives someone of their sins, they automatically receive healing of their physical bodies, but why is this?

To understand this, we need to understand the true definition of sin. “Sin” means to miss the mark, or make a mistake, it’s not something that God punishes us for, it’s something we punish ourselves for. It’s like this, if we eat nothing but unhealthy junk food, we will inevitably end up with an unhealthy body. If we only partake of unhealthy religious teachings, we will end up with an unhealthy mind; and if we do both of these things, we end up with an unhealthy mind and body. We sin against our own selves.

Now, I am in no way trying to tell anyone how to live their lives, you do you, no judgement; however, if we’re not aware of how this works we can easily become our own worst enemy. Knowledge of self is power. We are not punished for our sins, we are punished by our sins.

When real forgiveness of sins takes place, the side effects of those sins are erased. Forgiveness means forgotten. You are the I AM, and the I AM “remembers your sins no more.” (Hebrews 8:12) This may sound startling, but as God, you must extend radical forgiveness towards yourself. It has to start with you.

Radical forgiveness of self means erasing every sin from your life, truly forgiving yourself for every mistake, and when this happens the consequences of those sins are also erased, as if they never happened. “forget those things which are behind” (Philippians 3:13) and know that "the old things have passed away, and all things have become new.” (2nd Corinthians 5:17)

This isn’t always an easy thing to do, but we must do it. We must truly forgive ourselves and then “go and sin no more.” (John 8:11) You are not your sins, the ego wants you to think you are, and will tell you that you will always struggle with poor physical and mental health because of your past sins, but the ego is the devil and “the devil is a liar.” (John 8:44)

It’s all you, God and the Devil, the total human package. We are a divine paradox. Imagination is magic. Forgive yourself by imagining the ideal version of you, the version of you that never sinned against itself, and accept this as your truth. The opinions of others do not matter. Do this for you.

Change happens from the inside out, it may take some time to see, but you will see it. Think of it like holding a frozen ice cube in your hand and watching it slowly melt away until it is completely gone, your hand will remain cold and wet for a while, but eventually it will begin to dry out and become warm once again, as if the ice was never there.

Radical forgiveness.

In love and light,

-J
