Silence is Golden:
One of the most detrimental misinterpretations, and probably the most controversial, is the concept of the male and female roles in the bible. Once again, when scripture is taken literally it becomes a problem child. If you want to understand the spiritual truth of the bible, you must think of it in terms of the conscious and subconscious mind. Why? Because the bible is psychological not historical.
As above, so below.
Here’s a spiritual key that you can use to turn the lock of biblical understanding: Male = Conscious mind. Female = Subconscious mind.
The subconscious mind is responsible for out-picturing our belief system. How does it do this? Whatever the conscious mind believes to be true gets impressed upon the subconscious, it gestates, and then it is birthed into our physical reality. This is a sacred, loving, and monogamous relationship. The subconscious receives the seed of the conscious mind.
When the bible speaks of wives being submissive to their husbands it is describing this process. The subconscious always submits to the conscious mind and creates based on what you believe to be true. You are forever giving birth to your core beliefs. The subconscious mind’s only purpose is to please its husband, the conscious mind. It’s infatuation is so deep, that the two become one. Obsession.
“Therefore shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.” (Genesis 2:24)
“Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honor unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.” (1st Peter 3:7)
We must dwell with our subconscious mind in knowledge. When these verses refer to the “weaker vessel” it is simply because the subconscious mind does not think for itself, it takes its orders from the conscious mind. We must honor this relationship because they are joint heirs to the grace of life. In other words, the conscious and subconscious are joined, and this union creates our reality. We also get another insight here, if we’re not honoring this relationship, if we’re not dwelling with it in the knowledge of how this works, then our prayers are hindered. Understanding this dynamic, allows us to create our reality with intention, a reality that aligns with the true desires of our heart.
“Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.” (1st Timothy 2:11)
This is speaking of meditation. The importance of taking time to be silent everyday can not be overstated. Silence is golden. It is only in silence that the subconscious and conscious mind become intimate with one another. It is here in the silence that their sacred intercourse takes place which creates the reality in which we live.
Enjoy the silence.
In love and light,
