Don’t worry about tomorrow:

If you’ve watched the news at all over the last week or so then you’re well aware that there is plenty of stuff going on in the world that we can worry about; but would it do any good? I think sometimes as humans we feel that it is our duty to worry, we relate worry with care and responsibility; but honestly, worry is the least responsible and caring thing we can do.

Worry is doubting in action, and it is the opposite of faith.

This isn’t my idea, all through the Bible we are told not to worry. Let’s take a look at Matthew 6:34 "Don’t worry about tomorrow, because tomorrow will take care of itself.“ Why would Jesus say this? He’s pointing to a much deeper spiritual truth, the principle of as above so below or as within so without. Basically, our internal world creates our outer world, and if we’re constantly worrying about tomorrow today, then tomorrow will always be filled with things to worry about, and the cycle goes on and on until we are fully consumed, and our days are overflowing with unreasonable fear and worry.

Jesus didn’t say “don’t be concerned”, or “don’t think” about tomorrow, he said “don’t worry” about tomorrow.

You see when tomorrow gets here, we will experience it as now. Life is one big present moment, and everything always and only happens in the now.

It’s incredibly easy to get sucked into negative thinking (worry) and it’s a highly irresponsible way to live, not only for ourselves but for the world at large,

So what do we do? Well, at the risk of sounding overtly cliche, we think positive thoughts.

And now dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. (Philippians 4:8)

Thoughts create reality. There’s a negative side and positive side to everything in life, and whatever side we spend our time thinking about is the side that expands.

Not worrying about something doesn’t mean you don’t care, in fact it’s the opposite, it means you care enough not to expand the negative.

By not worrying, you are making the world a better place.

In love and light,

-J
