Drink Up!
“Jesus answered her, if you had only known and had recognized God’s gift and Who this is that is saying to you, Give Me a drink, you would have asked Him {instead} and He would have given you living water. She said to Him, Sir, You have nothing to draw {no drawing bucket} and the well is deep; how then can you provide living water? {Where do you get your living water?} (John 4:10-11 AMP)
And we also read…
“Stir up the gift that is in you.” (2nd Timothy 1:6)
The gift that is in you is your own divinity, your divine nature, your God-self, lying dormant in the deep well of consciousness; we must “stir up” this gift by becoming aware of it. This scripture tells us that God has no “drawing bucket” in other words, the supreme formless consciousness does not force itself upon us, we must draw it out by going deep within through prayer and meditation; it will not be drawn out for us. No one can do this for you, others may help stir, but it must be drawn by you.
“But whoever takes a drink of the water that I will give him shall never, no never, be thirsty anymore.” (John 4:14) Once you become aware of your true identity, (your “I Am-ness”), the living water within begins to stir, and you drink it by allowing it to absorb into you, accepting it as truth in the core of your being. You become one with it, and you declare, “I and my father are one” (John 10:30)
Once this takes place you will “never be thirsty anymore”, in other words, the thirst you had for meaning in your life, the thirst for knowing who God really is, the thirst for your purpose in life, the thirst for knowing what the will of God is, has finally been quenched.
Stir it up, take a nice long refreshing drink, and tell yourself to “be still and know I am God.” (Psalms 46:10)
In love and light,
