Passing sentence:
Pretty much everyone in the world knows John 3:16, and I would bet at least half the world has it memorized, but what about the next sentence?
“For God did not send the Son into the world in order to judge (to reject, to condemn, to pass sentence on) the world, but that the world might find salvation and be made safe and sound through Him.” (John 3:17 AMP)
This is the real Jesus, AKA the real you.
This is just one of the many, many ways that you can tell the mainstream church is totally missing the boat. At their core, they believe everyone is born a sinner, and if you don’t go to church, then you are considered “lost.”
Is this not passing sentence on the world? How can you not be judgmental towards others when you believe that they are “lost” and you are “found”?
Just because someone may be walking a different path doesn’t mean they are lost.
Anyway, we could go on and on about this, but the truth is, God doesn’t judge, God doesn’t reject, God doesn’t condemn, and God doesn’t pass sentence on the world; so any organization that does these things is not the real deal because that’s not love, and God is love.
In love and light,
