Have you seen God?
“No man has ever seen God at any time; the only unique Son, or the only begotten God, Who is in the bosom {in the intimate presence} of the Father, He has declared Him {He has revealed Him and brought Him out where He can be seen; He has interpreted Him and He has made Him known}.” (John 1:18 AMP)
This is such an interesting verse, and on the surface it sounds pretty cut and dry; however, if we engage our imagination, we begin to see the real meaning behind these words..
No one has ever seen God at any time…
Why?
It’s because when we look in the mirror or when we look outside, when we see other people, our planet, nature, animals etc… we are seeing what man has named them, and our left brain immediately makes a connection and says “That’s a dog, that’s a tree, that’s the sky, that’s my friend Frank, that’s me and so on and so on.
But God is the ALL in ALL and “in Him we live and move and have our being.” (Acts 17:28)
When you were first born, you were born as an expression of God, period; and then immediately someone slapped a name on you and you became that.
Today, we don’t see God, we see separate things that we have given names to, but it is only the names that separate them. It’s all God, there is nothing but God in this world.
You can’t even describe yourself without out saying God’s name…I AM.
Starting today, right now as you are reading this, start living in the 2nd half of this verse, “Declaring God, revealing God, bringing God out where He/She can be seen. Let us interpret everything we see as God, good, bad or indifferent; especially when we look at our reflection in the mirror.
In love and light,
