Night of the Living Dead:

And Jesus cried again with a loud voice and gave up his spirit. And at once the curtain of the sanctuary of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom: the earth shook and the rocks were split. The tombs were opened and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep in death were raised to life: And coming out of the tombs after his resurrection, they went into the holy city and appeared to many people. When the centurion and those who were with him keeping watch over Jesus observed the earthquake and all that was happening, they were terribly frightened and filled with awe, and said, Truly this was God’s Son!” (Matthew 27:50-54 AMP)

This is one of the most fascinating stories in all of scripture, and it’s just crazy to me that this doesn’t get taught on very much at all. Perhaps the churches just don’t want to touch this one because it’s so bizarre. I mean, we’re talking about the walking dead here! This literally describes a large number of dead people who literally came up out of the graves and started walking through the city; and it says that they appeared to many people, so a lot of the townsfolk saw this! It says that they were terribly frightened, well yeah, I would imagine so. Just thinking about this conjures images of George A. Romero’s “Night of the Living Dead” from 1968, and if we were to take these verses at face value, then we have to accept that we’re reading about a zombie apocalypse. As fun as that may be to imagine, I really don’t believe that’s what we’re dealing with here.

What this allegory is referring to is the phenomenon of a Kundalini Awakening. We have to remember, the Bible is written from a distinctly Eastern perspective, and while this concept may be foreign to the Western intellect, anyone from the East would easily comprehend what is being illustrated here. A Kundalini Awakening refers to the activation and ascent of a latent energy, often described as a “serpent” or “shakti,” through the body’s energy centers (chakras), leading to heightened awareness and a spiritual transformation.

In simple terms, a compressed coil of supernatural energy is sitting at the base of our spine, and when this energy rises up and touches the Pineal gland, the right side of the brain comes online and we experience an “awakening.” While this may sound like new age woo-woo type stuff, it’s backed up by medical science. The Sacrum is a triangular bone that sits at the base of the spine, and there is a reserve of Sacral spinal fluid (golden in color) that sits there with it. When this fluid travels up the spine it eventually touches the Pineal gland, and when it does it causes a mystical experience to take place in the brain. It’s interesting that the Sacrum bone is triangular in shape because the symbol for the third eye chakra or “Ajna” is also a triangle. It’s not hard to see the connection here. The fluid that sits at the base of the spine is symbolized as a serpent in Eastern spirituality, which is also very interesting when we compare this to all the verses in the Bible about serpents.

In the Garden of Eden it’s the serpent that is responsible for Adam and Eve’s eyes being opened, gaining knowledge and becoming like God. Then we have Moses lifting up the serpent on a rod (spine) in the wilderness, and everyone who gazed upon it was instantly healed in mind and body. Then we have the scripture in John 3:14-15 “And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in him may have eternal life.” So, we see Christ in association with the serpent. Are you seeing the connection here?

The late Christian Mystic and New Thought leader Neville Goddard referred to this Sacral spinal fluid or serpent as liquid golden light, which he believed to be the blood of Christ, and when you look at all the references in the Bible to the blood, and then read 1st John 1:5 which states “God is light” it all starts to form a beautiful, mystical picture.

Okay, okay, let’s reel this back in. We were talking about the graves being opened and the Night of the Living Dead. This story is telling us that when Christ rises within us (resurrection, serpent rising up the spine) that the dead come to life. We awaken from the sleep of death and are transformed by the renewing of our mind (Romans 12:2). It’s all mental, and when the “curtain of the sanctuary is torn from top to bottom” (the barrier that’s keeping you from knowing who you truly are) you awaken as your divine self that you have been all along.

So, how do we get this serpent to rise? One word: Meditation. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy, simply developing a habit of sitting quietly in the stillness is all that is necessary; however, there is a specific exercise that can be done to help facilitate this process which I describe in my book “Reality is Negotiable, Condensed Milk for Life.”

In love and light,
