Release Barabbas:
“So when the crowd had gathered Pilate asked them, “Which one do you want me to release to you Barabbas or Jesus who is called the Messiah?” For he knew that it was out of self interest that they had handed Jesus over to him. While Pilate was sitting on the judge’s seat, his wife sent him this message: “Don’t have anything to do with that innocent man, for I have suffered a great deal today in a dream because of him.” But the chief priests and the elders persuaded the crowd to ask for Barabbas and to have Jesus executed.” (Matthew 27:17-20)
In this allegorical story, Jesus represents enlightenment or higher consciousness, and Barabbas represents the ego or lower mind. The chief priests and the elders represent the church. Pilate and his wife represent the conscious and subconscious mind. I know that might sound crazy, but I assure you it’s not, the entire Bible is written like this, and once you know, you know.
The church is faced with a choice, higher consciousness or lower egoic consciousness. They can receive either one, and they choose the lower. This is because their ego will not allow them to break from the religious traditions of men. It’s right there in front of them, and they yell “release Barabbas!”
“Choose you this day whom ye will serve.” (Joshua 24:15)
